Newsletter June 2022

In the latest issue of our newsletter, we inform you about the new inheritance law that will come into force next year as well as about the imminent law change "Marriage for all".

On 1 January 2023, the new inheritance law will come into force without transitional provisions. The planned changes to the law will also affect existing wills and inheritance contracts from the new year. We will inform you about what the revision of the law entails and where there is a need for action or new options for action.

Last autumn, the Swiss voters voted by a clear majority in favour of "Marriage for all". The amendment to the law will now come into force on 1 July 2022. Our second article looks at the consequences of this change in the law and what same-sex couples need to bear in mind in this context.

Finally, we are proud to announce that for the fifth year in a row, our firm has been ranked as a "Top Law Firm" by the business magazine BILANZ and the daily newspaper Le Temps. As in previous years, our law firm is listed as one of the best law firms in Switzerland in real estate law, construction and planning law, energy and environmental law and technology and telecommunications law and new in the area of inheritance and estate law.
